POV 1.2

I was lucky enough to be invited by Paula from Heartwalk to paint as part of the Heartwalk Art in the Kalgoorlie CBD 2018 Festival.

I have recently been disillusioned with “street art” or mural painting. I felt with large corporations, property developers and government agencies taking curatorial control of our art form it had regressed from being one of the most exciting art forms to being reduced to simply pretty pictures, glorified building make or maybe even as bad as our generations version of the big banana or giant prawn. Heartwalkcbd has shown me what a positive impact a well run diverse festival that supports local artists can have on a regional town. Thanks to Paula and the Heartwalk Team, the legends at Black Crow Studios for having me and all the people of Kalgoorlie that welcomed me. Hope you like my big explosion 💥 🙏🙏✌️✌️

The artwork is a composition of deconstructed organic and geometric elements. Exploring the idea that we all have our own “reality” and the daily barrage of information and misinformation can warp, change and limit our own perception.
